The Sole T90 is the top-of-the-line treadmill from Sole Fitness, which boasts a slat belt and is designed for serious runners who want to keep a commercial machine in their home gym. Even though Sole Fitness focuses more on durability and quality instead of high-tech features, the ST90 has bucked this trend is offering various tech features to justify the high price tag.
The Workout Experience
Versatility is the name of the game when it comes to the ST90, but it also offers some tech luxuries. The free mode is a unique feature that does not use the motor, which gives an experience similar to a manual treadmill. There are eight incline levels included in the free mode and it can give a manual workout that requires concentrated and intense effort.
The easy-to-use interface of the ST90 and the touchscreen make it simple for anyone to navigate the preset workout programs available. There are standard upgrades, such as heart monitoring pads, Bluetooth compatibility and cup holders. There are 15 levels of incline and the highest speed is 12.5 miles per hour.
Footprint and Durability
Measuring 65 x 70 x 33.5 inches, the ST90 has a fairly average size, but the actual running surface is a bit narrow. The wear and tear on the belt is reduced due to the slat belt design. You should bear in mind that this is not a folding treadmill and will require space. Most importantly, it is quite heavy at a whopping 376 pounds, which means you cannot move it around your space once it has been set up.
The Ergonomics
Anyone with mobility issues might face some issues with the step-up height of the ST90 because it is about 10 inches. But, once you climb onto it, the slat belt has a gentler surface and a more natural stride than you will find elsewhere. It can give you a workout similar to an outdoor run, but not damage your knees, hips and ankles.
The console arms have speed and incline buttons and this makes them easy to reach when you are running or walking.
Technology Features
There are some pretty impressive upgrades you will come across in the ST90. The touchscreen display is 10.1 inch and offers a sharp, bright and clear picture. It lets you access and control the 29 preset programs, which include 12 custom programs, 10 standard ones and seven heart programs designed in accordance with military training.
The best part is that you do not need a subscription for accessing the programs on the treadmill. But, if you want more, you can access Sole Fitness’s STUDIO app that requires a subscription and gives you on-demand classes.
Pros
- It can be used for streaming workouts and watching television
- It comes with free STUDIO membership for 90 days
- 15 incline levels included
Cons
- No quick adjustment buttons or fans
- Warranty is not as long as some of the other Sole products
The Verdict
The Sole ST90 is an excellent treadmill for fitness enthusiasts and serious runners that offers interesting and convenient features, such as free mode and casting.
