Home Workout Essentials every Man Needs to Have

A long commute, weather, or a high price of gas, are few of the reasons why going to the gym can prove to be a hassle for many. Therefore, every guy’s fitness plan should always factor in the possibility of working out at home. The ease and convenience that a home gym offers is not something an off-site location can provide; everything you need is at your fingertips. But, to have a home gym, there are a few workout essentials that you need to have. Some of the few items that you should add to your home gym are outlined below.

Kettlebells

The kettlebell has become an immensely popular piece of workout equipment and for good reason. You can use it for both a cardio workout and a strength training session. You can burn hundreds of calories when you work out with this small metal ball that comes with a handle. The size and shape of this particular equipment also makes it easy to store and it does not require a lot of space.

Dumbbells

Every guy who wants to stay fit should have a dumbbell or two around the house because they offer you one of the most effective and easiest ways of building upper body strength. You can use dumbbells for performing an array of exercises, which makes them very cost effective. Another advantage they offer is the greater range of motion. With free weights, you can target muscles from every angle, while exercise machines are usually fixed in their positioning.

Rubber resistance bands

When you want to target muscles that are hard to reach, such as the ones in the inner thighs or in the back, then rubber resistance bands are an excellent option. They come in handy when you are traveling because they do not take up a lot of space and are relatively easy to carry.

Jump rope

One of the best ways for you to get a cardio workout without spending hours is with a jump rope. You can give your heart rate a boost and also speed up your metabolism. Similar to resistance bands, a jump rope does not require a lot of space and is easy to carry when you are traveling.

Exercise bike

When you want to get an effective cardio workout, but feel lazy, a stationary bike can come in handy. All you have to do is sit down and pedal. However, if you live in a small apartment, or have a smaller home, then a stationary bike may not be a good fit for you. But, if you are just starting on your fitness journey, then it is a good piece of equipment to have because it allows you to burn calories without putting your body under a lot of stress.

Treadmill

These days, treadmills are designed to make running easier on your legs and joints. Newer ones are even foldable, which means that you do not have to have a lot of space if you want to add a treadmill.
